We were asked by our clients to reimagine their early 20th century semi-detached mass concrete home in a rural setting in County Kildare.

The design does away with unoriginal extensions, instating in their place a contemporary timber structure with an innovative inside-outside space nestled under one big roof. The program includes a semi-open plan kitchen dining room, new side entrance with a utility-porch, and two new bathrooms at ground and first floor.

The structure, materiality and nomenclature have been heavily influenced by the site's setting and the clients' zero waste ethos.
