Design for an intergenerational house, 2022. Our work for this project involved re-imagining a home for a family in Co. Wicklow so that the existing house could offer freedom to two generations living under one roof.

The proposed design seeks to future proof the house allowing one generation to live in the original house, and another in a new level-access suite. A common kitchen, brings the family together over food. The new ground floor suite in the extension is fully accessible for older persons and those with limited mobility.

The building has been designed with modesty of finishes and construction materials, seeking to reduce construction costs through design.

The addition of a courtyard-facing bath came from our clients. The idea emerged during our collaborative design process and is a true reflection of our clients’ lifestyle & personality.
