An Síbín
The shebeen / speak-easy

An Síbín is a restoration project concealed by its naturally secluded location in the Irish countryside.

A long disused cow-shed revived from a century of dereliction and turned into an intimate place to escape the city. The design is modest in nature but generous as a retreat for family & friends.

Original features and materials integral to the vernacular construction such as cut-stone walls, concrete cow stalls, clay vent pipes & metal drinking troughs were restored and reinterpreted in the design.
